Program Overview:
This educational activity is designed to address key knowledge and skill gaps in medical, surgical, and practice-based dermatology. As advancements in therapeutics, technology, and healthcare policy continue to evolve, dermatology professionals must stay current on best practices in patient care, procedural techniques, and regulatory changes. The program features a comprehensive range of topics, including inflammatory skin disease, alopecia, psoriasis, cosmetic and surgical dermatology, and emerging tools such as artificial intelligence. Through expert-led sessions and case-based learning, this activity supports continuous professional development and aims to improve patient outcomes in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.
Target Audience: This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of dermatologists, dermatology residents, and other healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis and management of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic conditions.
Educational Objectives After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to: 1. Describe the clinical spectrum of cutaneous immune-related adverse events 2. Management of Molluscum Contagiosum in children 3. Review the differential diagnosis for leg ulcers 4. Differentiate hyaluronic acid fillers from biostimulatory agents by mechanism of action, longevity, and regenerative (collagen-stimulating) potential. 5. Describe the current evidence-based treatment options for melasma and other disorders of pigmentation 6. Learn surgical tips that can be applied to their clinical practice 7. As a result of this activity, the participant should be better able to identify scarring alopecias in their patients. 8. identify the distinguishing clinical features of non-scarring alopecia. 9. Identify general purpose AI tools used by patients for skin health and related information 10. Identify cardiac conditions (such as coronary microvascular dysfunction) predominantly affecting women |
12. Define and categorize urticaria 13. Describe new and emerging therapies for hidradenitis suppurativa 14. Recognize potential pitfalls and concerns prior to laser cutaneous surgery 15. Review statewide legislation affecting the practice of dermatology in California 16. Identify and differentiate early and delayed onset complications of fillers and neuromodulator injections, including vascular occlusion, nodules, granulomas, biofilm/infection and tyndall effect, based on characteristic clinical presentation and timing. 17. discuss new treatment updates regarding atopic dermatitis. 18. Summarize recent updates in melanoma diagnosis and management 19. Manage patient expectations around patch testing, including common misconceptions. |
